Shamil Bank of Yemen and Bahrain/SBYB has implemented a training program for over 200 Yemeni women to become entrepre- neurs in e-commerce, focusing on online shopping skills and payments via Internet cards. In line with our bank's vision and mission and as part of its social re- sponsibility activities, SBYB has exe- cuted the first phase of a training program for over 200 Yemeni women. The program aims to de- velop women entrepreneurs in the field of e-commerce, enhancing their online shopping skills and teaching them how to make payments using Internet cards. The training included practical exer- cises on registration steps and online shopping through electronic internet cards, understanding the aspects re- lated to purchasing goods, shipping them, and tracking their arrival until receipt. The program highlighted shopping and purchasing steps from the fa- mous website SHEIN, as recent sta- tistics indicate its growing popularity among shoppers, with most online shopping operations conducted through it. The bank adopted this training pro- gram as part of its commitment to so- cial responsibility, spreading the culture of online shopping and e- commerce. This contributes to en- hancing the digital transformation process and financial inclusion in the country. The program also aims to encourage and train women to be- come future entrepreneurs, enabling Yemeni women to engage in e-com- merce activities that suit their cir- cumstances and other commitments, as these activities do not require fixed working hours or presence at a specific workplace. Yemeni women can carry out these activities from their residences, ensuring a decent life, improving their living standards, and serving their community while acquiring new skills, contributing to increasing productive Yemeni fami- lies, and developing the national economy. During the training session led by trainer Maryam Khalil, participants acquired numerous skills to assist them in successful online shopping, completing payments via internet cards optimally to ensure purchase completion and receiving the desired products. They can then resell these products to their customers locally, including housewives and others in the local market. This program runs from May 22, 2024, to June 12, 2024. In this context, Assistant General Manager for Branches Support, Mr. Ameen Mohammed Al-Raimi, indi- cated that this training program falls under the bank’s community respon- sibility and its mission to improve the living standards of Yemeni society, particularly women. By training and qualifying them, the bank enables them to engage in e-commerce activ- ities suitable to the Yemeni commu- nity and women’s conditions. SBYB also provides distinguished electronic services, such as web server electronic cards, Shamil Money e-wallet services, and many other electronic banking services that help customers conduct their finan- cial transactions and e-commerce safely, easily, and flexibly, according to best practices. The bank strives to offer all its banking services electron- ically, achieving digital transforma- tion and enhancing financial inclusion in the country. the BANKING EXECUTIVE 28 ISSUE 186 JUNE 2024 SBYB'S COMMITMENT TO SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: Enhancing Women’s Online Shopping and Payment Skills
