With Wink Pay, we have simplified and digitized the customer registra- tion process, facilitating online pay- ments and transfers abroad (Outbound) and receiving inbound remittances, especially as customers are now, more than ever, looking for reliable and convenient means to manage their payments and transfers effectively without needing a bank account.” Mr. Mario Makari, Vice President of Visa Middle East, stated: “At Visa, we are excited to partner with Credit Libanais and Codebase Technologies to launch innovative products, and we are proud of this collaborative ef- fort to bring Wink Pay to the mar- ket.” He continued: “The issuance of instant virtual cards will modernize the way consumers pay by providing efficient, secure, and easy payment solutions. With these virtual cards, customers can complete their digital payments instantly, significantly en- hancing the customer experience. Using Visa's secure global payment infrastructure and advanced fraud prevention capabilities, customers can be assured their payments are safe and reliable.” Mr. Tamer Moujeh, General Man- ager of Codebase Technologies in the Middle East and North Africa, also remarked: “Wink Pay can be summed up in three words: simple, fast, and efficient. From the branding to the interactive elements, every- thing is meticulously designed to tar- get the younger generation without any complex or unnecessary proce- dures. The process of registering, opening an account, electronically verifying the user's identity, and issu- ing the card is quick, involving only three steps; moreover, no deposit is required to start using the services.” ISSUE 185 MAY 2024 the BANKING EXECUTIVE 15 In recognition of the vital impor- tance of financial inclusion, which aims to empower all segments of society by providing access to fi- nancial products and services tai- lored to their diverse needs, Banque du Caire participated in the financial inclusion events under the auspices of the Central Bank of Egypt. These events coincided with the celebration of Arab Financial Inclusion Day, which took place from April 1 to April 30. During the event, Banque du Caire offered a range of benefits and pro- motions, most notably the free is- suance of "Wafer" financial inclusion accounts. These accounts include savings accounts for indi- viduals, current accounts for those engaged in economic activities and crafts, and Wafer Business accounts for startups and micro-enterprises. Wafer accounts are notable for their free issuance and no minimum bal- ance requirement. Additionally, the bank provided free issuance of pre- paid cards, free subscriptions to the Cairo Cash wallet service for both new and existing customers, and free subscriptions to internet and mobile banking services. Throughout the campaign, Banque du Caire was present at various ex- ternal locations to facilitate the ac- tivation of products and services for citizens, including youth centers and universities such as Daman- hour University, Luxor University, Alexandria University, Alamein In- ternational University, and Suez University. The bank also con- ducted educational seminars on the importance of financial inclusion and services for entrepreneurs. Moreover, Banque du Caire collab- orated with the "Bankers Lounge" Academy in the "Train of Good- ness" initiative during Ramadan, aimed at raising awareness in more than 15 governorates, with signifi- cant participation from key target groups for financial inclusion, in- cluding women and youth.
