Bank Muscat Oryx Fund continues to reward its investors with a growing stream of dividend distributions and capital growth. The fund manage- ment body of Oryx Fund has pro- posed a dividend distribution of 68 bz per unit to be paid to the unitholders for FY 2022, subject to requisite approvals from the unitholders and other competent au- thorities. Accordingly, the fund has maintained its track record of consis- tently growing dividend distributions despite a challenging market envi- ronment. DIVIDEND DISTRIBUTION TRACK RECORD OF ORYX FUND (BAIZA PER UNIT) In addition to the regular income dis- tributions through dividends, the fund has also been rewarding its in- vestors with attractive capital appre- ciation since its inception in 1994. The Oryx Fund delivered an average return of 12.7% per annum to in- vestors over the last 10 years which translates into an aggregate return of 230.5% over this period, or in other words an amount of RO 10,000 in- vested in Oryx Fund has grown to approximately RO 33,050 over the last 10 years, consisting of original investment of RO 10,000 and invest- ment gain (returns) of RO 23,050. The return delivered by Oryx Fund over the last 10 years is significantly higher than average returns offered by alternatives over the same period like the MSX 30 Index 3.4% per annum, S&P GCC Index 3.9% per annum, MSCI Emerging Markets index 1.8% per annum, gold nega- tive 1.9% per annum, Barclays Global Aggregate Bond index -0.4% per annum and term deposits with commercial banks in Oman gener- ally offering varied average interest rates up to 4% to 5% per annum. As such, the Oryx Fund clearly stands out as an attractive investment choice for prospective investors with a medium to long term view.
