INTRODUCTION The World Economic Forum’s An- nual Meeting in Davos 2026, held from 19 to 23 January under the theme “A Spirit of Dialogue,” brought together more than 60 heads of state, 400 political leaders, and over 800 Chief Executive Officers CEOs to debate the most pressing global challenges. Artificial intelli- gence (AI) dominated the agenda, with tech leaders like Elon Musk, Jensen Huang, and executives from Microsoft and Google DeepMind talking about its risks and opportuni- ties, while energy discussions re- vealed sharp divides between advocates of fossil fuels and those pushing for renewables and nuclear power. At Davos 2026, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella issued a stark warning that the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence risks becoming a bubble if its benefits remain con- fined to tech giants and wealthy na- tions. Speaking alongside BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, Nadella emphasized that AI must deliver tangible produc- tivity gains across sectors like health- care, education, agriculture, and manufacturing to justify its soaring valuations.
