DeepSeek ABOUT DEEPSEEK DeepSeek is a Chinese artificial intel- ligence company that develops open-source large language models (LLMs). Founded in 2023 by Liang Wenfeng and based in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, it is owned and funded by the Chinese hedge fund High-Flyer. DeepSeek's Artificial Intelligence (AI) models, including DeepSeek-R1, are designed to provide responses comparable to other contemporary large language models like OpenAI's GPT-4.
