Digital Egypt 2026 And AI Strategy EGYPT AS A REGIONAL AI HUB BY 2030 By 2030, Egypt’s collaborations with global partners such as Microsoft, Google, and IBM could firmly posi- tion the country as a regional AI hub, competing with other leading nations in the Middle East. These partner- ships provide Egypt with access to cutting-edge technologies, training programs, and research networks that accelerate the development of localized AI solutions. With Mi- crosoft’s support in cloud-based AI and workforce training, Google’s ex- pertise in geospatial analytics and Arabic Natural Language Processing NLP, and IBM’s leadership in cyber- security and advanced analytics, Egypt is building a comprehensive AI ecosystem. This ecosystem not only addresses domestic challenges in healthcare, agriculture, education, and infrastructure but also creates ex- portable solutions tailored to the Ara- bic-speaking world. By combining global innovation with local adapta- tion, Egypt can establish itself as the go-to center for Arabic AI technolo- gies, smart city solutions, and ethical AI frameworks. Such a position would allow Egypt to compete with regional leaders like the UAE and Saudi Arabia, while also serving as a bridge between Africa and the Mid- dle East in shaping the digital future. the BANKING EXECUTIVE 32 ISSUE 206 FEBRUARY 2026 Ranking of AI strategies by ambition and investment scale across Egypt, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and Saudi Arabia Scale Level Global Scale Regional Scale Governance Scale Emerging Scale Countries Saudi Arabia, UAE Egypt, Qatar Bahrain, Kuwait Oman Key Characteristics Massive investments ($40B+ in Saudi Arabia), global leadership ambitions, embedding AI across healthcare, education, energy, smart cities.
