Digital Egypt 2026 And AI Strategy AI TO ADDRESS GEOPOLITICAL CHALLENGES Artificial intelligence is increasingly being used as a tool to address geopolitical challenges, and Egypt’s evolving AI strategy reflects this global trend. By investing in AI, Egypt strengthens its ability to analyze complex regional dynamics, en- hance national security, and improve decision-making in foreign policy. AI-powered systems can process vast amounts of data from multiple sources such as satellite imagery, so- cial media, and economic indicators to provide insights into regional con- flicts, migration patterns, and re- source competition. This helps poli- cymakers anticipate risks and respond more effectively to crises. Moreover, Egypt’s focus on AI in cy- bersecurity ensures resilience against digital threats, which are often tied to geopolitical tensions. Microsoft has played a significant role in supporting Egypt’s digital transformation and AI strategy by providing both tools and collabora- tive programs. Microsoft’s Azure AI platform is one of the key technolo- gies being used, offering cloud-based machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision services. Looking ahead, Egypt’s AI strategy envisions the development of future AI tools that will be more special- ized, integrated, and resilient. One area of focus is AI for climate and water resource management, where advanced predictive models and satellite-based monitoring systems will be developed to address chal- lenges such as Nile water allocation and climate change adaptation. An- other area is AI in healthcare ge- nomics, with tools designed to analyze genetic data for personalized medicine, which could revolutionize treatment approaches. In education, Egypt is expected to invest in AI-dri- ven adaptive learning platforms that can provide real-time feedback and tailor curricula to individual stu- dents. Smart infrastructure will also benefit from AI-powered urban plan- ning tools, capable of simulating traf- fic, energy, and housing scenarios to build more sustainable cities. However, developing these future tools comes with challenges. One ISSUE 206 FEBRUARY 2026 the BANKING EXECUTIVE 29 AI tools used in Egypt to address various global challenges.
