71 Arab Banks among top 1000 Largest Banks in the World MAIN OBSERVATIONS • The total capital of the 71 Arab banks amounted to $355,446 mil- lion, while their assets amounted to about $ 3,094,768 million. • Banks in the United Arab Emirates topped the Arab world with a total of 15 banks among the top 1,000 largest banks in the world based on Tier 1 Capital size, followed by Saudi Arabia (11 banks), Qatar (9 banks), Bahrain Egypt and Kuwait (7 banks each), Oman (5 banks), Morocco (4 banks), Jordan (3 banks), Tunisia (2 banks) and Lebanon (1 bank). • Qatar National Bank maintained its Rank as the top Arab Banks ac- cording to Tier 1 Capital, followed by National Commercial Bank, First Abu Dhabi Bank, Emirates NBD, and then Al Rajhi Bank.
